31 May 2006 Update on Dodger
Dodger is the first of the Leelo pups to go home, after having made about three attempts on the track. He just enjoys running so much that he is silly about it, legs everywhere, the absolute picture of bliss...but not of speed. I was second in line for him, so I have a special place in my heart for the big brindle bubba.
The plan was for him to be going home to his Momma Kimmie in NC this weekend, but Jax has been quarantined for kennel cough and he is in the adoption kennel at the track. Here's hoping for patience for Kimmie (I don't know that I could stand it if I was that close to getting Daisy and then everything fell through) and for Dodger. Good luck in your new life Dodger, whenever you get there!!

I'm afraid I'll jinx it...
But Way to GO Babygirl!!!
THIRD RACE Grade M 5-16 Mile Track F Time 31.34 Her brother Casey did well last night too, coming in FIRST with a time of 30.91. Casey is racing in grade D...now Daiz just needs a win in maiden to get into D with him. Sophie ran on 5/29 and came in 3rd with a time of 31.50. Not too shabby, kids!

28 May 2006 Maybe the Second Time will be the Charm
Daisy's next time out will be on Tuesday, 5/30. She's in the third race but again has the number 2 hole so I'm afraid it's going to be a repeat of the last race. I sometimes wonder if there is some karma-related somethingoranother going on that is pushing her toward my couch all the faster??
Her brother Casey (FTH Hurrycane) will also be running Tuesday night, the number five hole in the second race. Sophie runs tomorrow night, third race, fourth box. Hallie and Bonnie ran on Saturday, Hallie took fifth place and Bonnie took eighth. Yikes, girls, I hope Casey's not a bad influence!!

25 May 2006 Not a good first showing... THIRD RACE Grade M 5-16 Mile Track F Time 31.26From the looks of those quotes I'd say the first turn on this race was messy. But on the bright side, Daisy's Aunty Janet got this awesome picture of my girly!!! Better luck next time, beautiful...Aunty Janet says there's VIDEO coming...

23 May 2006 Big Day for Daisy Tomorrow!!!
Daiz runs her first maiden race at Orlando tomorrow on the matinee card. She's in the third race and has the number 2 hole...which is either really good and means she can break like a house on fire and go right to the rail, or that she'll be bumped back at the break. MAN I wish I could see her run!!!
Her brother Casey is also running tomorrow, 8th race, number 5 hole. Here's hoping he can pull out a better showing than his past few times on the track! Sophie ran tonight and only missed 3rd by a hair, her time was 31.77 and the number 3 dog's time was 31.73. Not bad at all, pretty girl, still in the money with fourth I think. I will be a nervous wreck tomorrow...I really want Daisy to do well...check back here for results!!

Recent results and upcoming races for the Leelos
First, the big news...
NINTH RACE Grade . 5-16 Mile Track F Time 32.10She proved me wrong, taking first even in an outside box. I don't care, I'll take it!! Hallie runs tonight, 3rd race, 5th hole. Sophie runs tomorrow night, also the 3rd race and 5th hole. I don't see Daisy on the schedule yet, but I believe MC told me that SOKC runs schooling races on Fridays, so perhaps I have to wait until then. I wish that SOKC had their cards listed further out into the week like Jacksonville does...of course I also wish they had a live feed so I could have seen my babygirl win but that's a given. Fingers, toes, and paws crossed that she does super-well there and maybe will have a shot back at Jax....

18 May 2006 Just because I'm a nerd... Left to right, Arawen (Mama Carla baby), Daisy, Windy, Sophie, Bonnie, Paisley (Mama Carla Baby), and Hallie More info on the Daisy's siblings... Names: FTH Oopsie Daisy, FTH Lights Out, FTH Hallie Pino, FTH Hurrycane, FTH Storm Dodger, FTH Runforcover, FTH Sophie Sox Racing Info: (all of the Leelo pups that are still racing are at Sanford-Orlando/SOKC) FTH Lights Out ("Bonnie Boo" formerly known as "Bonnie Badass") runs tomorrow night, 5/19 in the third race. She will be in the number four hole. FTH Hurrycane ("Casey" or "Daisy's Moose of a Twin") ran last night, 5/17, in the eleventh race. He was in the number seven hole, and unfortunately came in seventh, ten lengths behind the number six dog. Just a side note, Casey is racing at EIGHTY-ONE and a HALF pounds. It's no wonder when I met him back in March and he bumped into me I went flying almost into Daisy's crate with her... FTH Storm Dodger ("Dodger") is officially retired from racing and will be going home to Momma Kim Stevenson in NC the first weekend of June. Dodger obviously LOVES to run, you can see it on his face...but he runs sloppy like a the big old puppy that he is...just the sweetest boy EVER. FTH Runforcover ("Windy") is on the farm in Jax at the moment, awaiting Daddy Bill's decision to send her to Orlando (when there is space for her) or send her on to a sofa. FTH Sophie Sox ("Sophie Angel Socks") ran on Tuesday, 5/9 and won her schooling race with a time of 31.71. Sophie is a beautiful brindle girly with GORGEOUS white socks...hence the name. FTH Hallie Pino ("Hallie Jalapeno" or "Mountain Goat") ran on Tuesday, 5/16 and won her schooling race with a time of 31.33.

16 May 2006 Daiz Hits Mouse Town
Daisy has arrived at the track in Orlando, and began her schooling races last Friday evening with a scratch. She would have been in the number four box, which is a good box for her I think. When she draws an outside box it seems she runs too far outside, but if she has 4-6 she shoots straight down the middle like her tail is on fire.
In other news, Daisy's sister FTH Lights Out (Bonnie Boo) won her schooling race the previous Tuesday, and her other sister FTH Hallie Pino's race was declared "NO RACE" on the same Tuesday. Not sure what that means exactly... To check her results (Sanford-Orlando doesn't have simulcast races, unfortunately), click here and then choose the "CCC Racing at Sanford Orlando" link on the left side. From there you can choose from results, race programs, and other info on the track. Go Daiz go...not that I don't want you to come home to me, baby, but I could see that first night at Jax how much you love to run, and I want you to be able to do that as much as you can for Mama Cathie and Daddy Bill first...
